Sydney’s weird summer weather

* wettest summer in 6 years
* no days over 31 degrees (surely not?) – first time since 1956
* average max temperature only 25.2 degrees – coldest summer since 1996-97
* lowest average sunshine since 91-92 (6.7 hours per day)

Making hair bands out of used c0nd0ms

Reports from China that used c0nd0ms are being used to make hair bands. Just so wrong.

Early Easter Facts

Does Easter seem early this year? Well it should – it hasn’t been this early since 1913, and we won’t see another one this early in our lifetimes (it doesn’t happen again until 2228)! Elizabeth from Scarlet Words has all the full early Easter story.

Picking the wrong club to rob

Hehe – if you are going to rob a club, it’s a good idea to make sure there isn’t a monthly bikers “motorcyclist enthusiasts” meeting with 50 in attendance.

The things kids say

Miss 4 – “Oh. My. God.” (Let’s hope that one doesn’t slip at her Christian school 😮 )
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Miss 6 – “Mum, tuna is so last year”.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Miss 4 – “I was being sarcastic you know”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Me: “What do you think Thomas would like for his birthday”?
Miss 4 – “Oh, I’m sure he’d loooove an Action Finger” (complete with wiggling finger)
    Trophy that looks like a toilet seat… LOL. Surely the designer must be squirming reading this.
    A good collection of hmmms there Meg. I watched the bikers chasing out the robbers on the news last night. How would you be? Never robbing anyone again I hope.
    eew the water!
    I still remember that spider in the kids ear thing, and the rice krispies sound.. that was making it hard for me to sleep, but now I will be compulsively checking future water bottles. :(
    Cheers!
    There you go with the freaking spiders again Meg!!! :)
    Oh how that ‘robber’ story cheered me up! But the no days over 31C? You lucky lucky bastards…..
    You’ve missed another good one, Meg. What was Miss 4’s response to the comment directed at her: “You are such a comedian”….
    Miss 4’s reply: “But I don’t change my colour.”
    Hopefully haven’t misquoted the story from g’ma too badly.
    LoL, SiS.
    Thanks guys – glad you enjoyed the hmmms :)
    Babyamore – yes, it sure felt hotter – perhaps they’re just referring to Sydney city?
    Snos – eeew, seriously? I thought being buzzed by a mossie was bad enough. What concerns me most about the spider in the water bottle is that it’s entirely visible. What if you were drinking a can of soft drink….? 😮
    Marita – that’s highly likely. Do they use that phrase on the show?
    Kelley – note to self – NO MORE SPIDER STUFF. Happy? 😉 😀 yeah, I though people moved to Melbourne to enjoy the “milder climate”.
    SiS – You got it close, but I didn’t forget about that one.
    MM (to Miss 4) – Oh you’re such a comedian! Do you know what a comedian is?
    Miss 4 – Yes, it’s an animal that can change its appearance so it can camouflage.
    MM – What?
    Me – I think she’s talking about a cham-e-leon
  15. Meg's SiSon 01 Mar 2008 at 3:49 pm
    Thanks for the correction. Even better story with the “MM” angle 😉
    When I saw the soccer trophy I thought it was an ugly trophy, but did not make the connection to a toilet seat until you pointed it out. Surprising actually, given my normal predisposition to toilet humour!
    Toilet seat trophies aren’t that bad. At least they can provide an ongoing use, rather than just gathering dust on a shelf.
