My First Guest Post! Open Coffee Club Sydney

Well, I suppose it’s a defacto guest post in that I’m really just rehashing a comment from this blog that you probably didn’t see. It is on a topic I fully support however.

KH writes:

I don’t know if you’ve heard about the Open Coffee Club, but it’s something that Saul Klein kicked off successfully in London and is now branching out across the world. The idea is to get people in the startup industry of a particular city together regularly (i.e. same place/time every week) and informally (i.e. no name tags, no invitations, no signups, just come if you want).

We’re trying to kick one off in Sydney. The aim being that we have all the ingredients to create a great startup industry here but everyone is too fragmented. The more we get to know everyone else involved in the industry, the more collaboration/competition will happen and the better the products/services will be that come out of Sydney (think of Porter’s Competitive Advantage of Nations).

Do you think you could help out by putting up a post and getting word of mouth happening by contacting everyone you know from around Sydney who might be interested in attending?

I’ve got a few other people doing the same thing, so hopefully we can make something happen soon.

For details please see The Sydney Open Coffee Club.

And be sure to read Open Coffee Club for more interesting information about the concept.

So all you Sydney Startups, lob on over and put your two bob’s worth in.</strine>.
