DebateIT: Blogging is as Useful as Talkback Radio Follow Up

Published by at 9:03 am under Aussosphere,Australian Blogs

I had planned to attend yesterday’s debate, but unfortunately all did not go according to plan.

The lovely Laurel did attend (even if she did have to sneak in late) so you can read her commentary about the debate (and Enterprise 2.0 conference). A little taste:

Back to business: the debate itself was revealing. Two years ago, media and journalists were whistling a different tune. I guess we all were. I was thrilled that not only are blogs being acknowledged as an important part of the new media landscape but that their true limitations are being recognised. Saying that blogs are limited because they are a one-to-many mechanism (new) is an entirely different conversation than saying blogs are full of rubbish and a waste of time. (old)

Apparently a podcast of the debate is going to be made available on the ABC site.

Looks like it was an interesting debate. Laurel’s post is a good read.

Looking forward to the ABC podcast – of course, you’ll plaster an update link here when they get it up. :-)
