Dipping into the Blogpond

Just a quick progress update on the BUMPzee Australian blogs community.

Many thanks to the members who have joined the community. So far we have 20 26 30 members and 22 31 34 blogs, and 602 entries (aka posts). Remember, you can submit more than one blog, and you can join the community without submitting a blog.

A few pointers on BUMPzee

1. To join simply look for this button

2. To submit your blog to the community – look for this (or “add yours” under the community title in the picture below)

Navigating around the community

You’ll see some tabs as displayed below:

Next to “Members”, just under the community title, is the number of members with a link next to it, this will say “register” if you haven’t registered for BUMPzee yet. It will say “join” if you’ve already registered (but not yet joined the community), or “leave” if you have joined the community. Next to “Blogs” is a link to add your blog (note: I think this always says “Add yours” even if you have, as you can add more than one blog).

• Home: Takes you to the community’s main page
• Top: Takes you to the top posts for the community’s blogs (and you can do some interesting filtering from this page)
• New: Shows you the entries in chronological order from most recent to oldest
• Discussions: Lets you follow comments that have been left on posts (at the moment the only comments that are showing are the comments from this blog, as it’s the only one with the widgets installed – topic for another post)
• Zees: Zees are short messages that the community can post for other members of the community (or any registered member, for that matter)
• People: This is a list of all the members of the community. You can explore their profiles from here
• Tags: This shows you a list of the most popular tags for the week, and is a searchable list
• Blogs: Lists all the blogs that have been submitted to the community
• Events: This lists any events that might be relevant to the community
• RSS Icon: This will subscribe you to all the blogs in the community in one feed
