Join an Australian Blogs Community on BUMPzee

BUMPzee

Have you heard about BUMPzee?

BUMPzee started out as a social networking site for affiliate marketing bloggers, but has grown to include a variety of other communities.

While MyBlogLog and BlogCatalog focus on individual blogs, BUMPzee is different.

BUMPzee allows like minded bloggers to join communities according to their interests, where the focus is on the community, not an individual blog.

For avid consumers of Aussie blogs, one of the real bonuses is that you can subscribe easily to an RSS feed for all the blogs that join the community, OR read entries via your BUMPzee reader (on the site).

You can vote for entries by “bump”ing them, see what’s popular, see what’s new, search for tags within the community, leave comments (aka discuss), messages and post events (once I work out how!). There’s an optional widget to display recent BUMPzee visitors, and a WordPress plugin (which I’m yet to install), but these are by no means compulsory.

Last night I created an Australian Blogs community on BUMPzee. We’ve got six nine twelve blogs added already, and would like to invite all Aussie bloggers to join.

The process is simple:-

  1. Go to BUMPzee
  2. Register
  3. Add your blog information
  4. Join the Australian Blogs community
  5. Add Submit your blog to the community

At present, blogs are manually approved. My profile is blogpond.

Come on over and be part of the community :)

    Hi Gavin and Snoskred

Great! Apart from joining the community, don’t forget to “Submit” your blog to the community, so your posts appear :)

I joined BUMPzee a little while ago and had forgotten all about it. I joined the community. An excellent idea to start one, my dear.

    I do wish their widgets weren’t java…

    Hi Matt

I’ve also tried to add your blog. There seems to be a bit of a hiccup with your feed (a really long lag, even if you click to subscribe). What are you using to burn it?

  15. Matt Vaporon 21 May 2007 at 8:33 pm

    Hey Meg,

It has got me stumped at the moment. All I am using is the feed that comes with wordpress, I am not using feedburner or anything. I have even tried feeding the direct rss link but no change :/

  16. Megon 21 May 2007 at 8:37 pm

    I tried that too.

I’ve submitted the problem to their help team & they’re onto it – I’ll send a you a direct email when it’s sorted. They’ve got a great support team.

    Awesome! Thanks! 😀

    Matt,

have you tried all three feed addresses that your blog can have?

    http://blog.clickonline.org.au/feed/
    http://blog.clickonline.org.au/feed/atom/
    http://blog.clickonline.org.au/feed/rss/

There might be a problem with which ever one Bumpzee is looking at but hopefully not all three. For what its worth i can see your atom feed just fine.

    Cheers

    Greg

    Hi Greg

I think you were right with the …./feed.

The blog was added within about half an hour of my support email and that was the one used.

  21. Matt Vaporon 21 May 2007 at 11:24 pm

    Hey Greg,

I did try that, but it was a dodgy WordPress FeedStats plugin which was causing the hiccup :)

    All good now :)
