PageRank Update Comes Early

Published by at 12:13 am under Google PageRank

Who can pick it? Just when you think you’ve got the schedule nailed… It appears there has been a global PageRank update this weekend (September 27).

No change on my domain, but I am noticing PageRank on posts from earlier this month indicating there has in fact been an update.

How’s your green bar? I’m a little surprised Google hasn’t released a toolbar for Chrome yet.

My new blog seems to still be at zero :-( I really thought it would gain a pagerank this time (last time it was just a few posts into existence so it didn’t surprise me).

I too would have expected Google to release the toolbar for Chrome.

Bugger, I slipped from 4 to 3. Wonder why as my incoming links have only gone up.

Thanks for including me in the latest top 100. Entered the chart at #44 – not too shabby.

Page Rank is borderline comical these days. I’m not actually sure what purpose it serves at the moment, but beside that, the process behind allocating PR seems a little on the dodgy side. For example, swollenpickles.com currently shows a 0 (it was 4), while another blog that is totally ‘whore’d’ out gets a PR2.

Another example, simplekindoflife.com still has a PR2 even though they’ve earned over $22,000 by blogging for PayPerPost, and are quite public about that.

There’s no consistency in the whole thing.

    Sigh… looks like I took a hit, with my 4 dropping to a 3 :(
And by the way Meg, in response to your comment about their being no toolbar for Chrome yet… I have the sneaky suspicion that signals the end of published Toolbar Pagerank actually… just a feeling of course.

One benefit of losing page rank. Fewer spam comments. 😀

Ah! Page rank raises its ugly head again. I really don’t know that it is that much of a big deal really.

Well, I removed the little green bar as all my stats have taken a huge dive due to a lack of TLC. But I thought it was time I said Hi. Been keeping up offline. xx la

My pagerank went down to 4/10 due to the fact that I linked to my new personal blog :(
