Calling all Non-Blogging Blog Readers

Published by at 7:10 pm under Australian Blogs

I received a lovely email from a lady called Bo McGrath who is an Honours student in Communication and Cultural Studies at the University of Queensland. She’s having trouble coming up with subjects for her honours thesis.

She is specifically looking to interview (via an email questionnaire) people who:

  • read blogs, but do not blog themselves
  • do not personally know the blogger offline
  • are over 18 and
  • are Australian Citizens

The questions revolve around the subject’s favourite blog.

I’m not sure that my blog would have many any readers that don’t blog and don’t know me offline – interesting blogs like Kelley‘s or Karen Cheng‘s might be a better bet…

Which reminds me – watch out for a channel 10 news story on blogging (coming early June, I believe) featuring interviews with Karen, Neerav and Darren.

Anyhow, if there should be any readers here that don’t blog, and are interested in helping Bo out with her research (she’d be really grateful), she can be contacted via email to s4029966@student.uq.edu.au.

    Hi Meg,

I think it is a big ask – I don’t know anyone who regularly reads other people’s blogs who does not blog themselves. That said, I will ask around.

    Best regards, Andrew

I got that email too, and passed it on privately to a couple of people I know read but don’t have blogs themselves. I have a few readers that either don’t have blogs or choose not to share the details.

You called me interesting! I feel so honoured and cool :) Thanks babe.

Kelley’s last blog post..Damn. I wasted my wishes.

    Andrew

Thanks mate. It is a tough ask, which is why I’m helping out! I appreciate your shout on Twitter :)

Kelley – oh good! I guess it’s those lurker (stalker) types you don’t know about until you meet them šŸ˜‰ I know someone that reads your blog but doesn’t blog herself. I’m not sure if she’s commented though. Heh we talk about your adventures :)

I get ruled out on the count of having my own blog. I’ll check my list and see if i can come up with some who don’t know me offline and are australian.

    Hi Meg,

I’m so far behind with my reading I can’t believe it!

I just wanted to say thanks to you for mentioning the news article and thanks to Neerav for the link to the clip. I found it very interesting.

I’ll admit that I double checked the date to see it wasn’t April 1 when I first read it! :)
