Election Eve Rabble Raisers – Wanna Play?
I sense a blacklash, a revolution, a mutiny… well maybe not, but how about some election 07 fun?
So there is an Election Blackout in force. From Andrew:
Laurel Papworth just raised the question on Twitter – with the media blackout now in place for tomorrow’s Australian Federal election, is there a blackout on non-media blogs as well?
Andrew suggests an Evil Election Eve blog carnival (submissions here – deadline 8.00 am tomorrow) with possible topics:
- Most pressing election issue (and who you think will deliver on it)
- Funniest election advertisement
- Funniest election gaffe
- Most embarrassing campaign angle
- Why you’re over all this cr*p already
Laurel is going to host the carnival, and has already weighed in with her contribution.
There is a media blackout around 48 hours before an election (thanks BronwenZ!), which means that we,
- the great unwashed,
- the “unprofessional” Citizen Journalist,
- Cult writers for the Amateurs
- Bloggers unExtraordinaire
can play up.
I think these two videos sum up my thoughts on the election 😉
My Previous Election Coverage.
What do you think? Sounds like a bit of fun & a good way to show the coherence of the Aussie Blogging community.

Hi Meg,
thanks for picking up on the meme
That second video is a classic – the Honourable Minister for Health looks a little like Jabba the Hutt drooling over Princess Leia
Best regards, and welcome to Evil Election Eve, Andrew
Oh this sounds like too much fun. Count me in!
Now, to find time to write…
Hi Kin,
it doesn’t have to be complicated – I wrote my post in under 2 minutes just so I could get in first
Best regards, Andrew
Hi! Sounds interesting and just to set a cat amongst the pigeons, I predict Howard to win by a nose.
[…] There has been a bit of buzz around the Evil Election Eve blog carnival. There ended up being 10 entries (watch Laurel Papworth’s blog for the official post). Interestingly enough, this is the first time that I’ve seen most of the entries to a local blog carnival contain YouTube videos. Funny ones from The Chaser crew seem to be favourites. I’ve found them all very entertaining, especially the second one in Meg’s post. […]
Andrew – no worries, glad you got a good response. That second video is rather odd – you just got to wonder what he’s thinking.
@ Kin – glad you found the time
@ Peter – I wouldn’t be surprise, I don’t hold much confidence in the polls
