Paying it Forward
Firstly, I need to thank Tiff for this lovely friendship award:
It reads:
A ball is a circle, no beginning, no end
It keeps us together like our circle of friends.
But the treasure inside for you to see
is the treasure of friendship you’ve granted to me.
Today I pass the friendship ball to you.
I’d like to pass this friendship token to:
It’s hard coming up with these lists, because I hate excluding people – and I don’t want to appear “cliquey“. So in choosing these people I selected some of the people who I chat to “off blog”, but of course I consider many more of you friends

Thanks to Anonymum for this Funky Blog Award.
This one’s tough. You all have funky blogs or I wouldn’t be reading them! So I’m not going to exclude anyone by passing this on.
Paying it Forward
Ah yes, back to the original theme of this post. Recently I won a “Pay it Forward” competition that Tiff held.
I love the philosophy of “paying it forward” (PIF), and I think it goes to the heart of blogging benevolence.
We can all practice paying it forward in a range of simple ways. Be it linking out to a favourite or beginning blogger, offering advice, a blog review, stumbling a great post… The list is endless and also includes offline activities.
My PIF Competition
The Gift: Some people choose to make craft items, send a card or surprise gift, or write a blog review. I’ve decided to give away Entrecard credits (maximum gift pool 2,000 credits). You do not need to be currently using Entrecard, but should be prepared to sign up to receive your gift (or nominate another user to receive your credits). The credits may be used by yourself or re-gifted (i.e. passed on). Three entrants will be randomly selected to receive 500 credits each.
The Bonus: If any of the winners have not previously used Entrecard, then 500 bonus credits will be awarded to the first non-entrecard winner selected (provided they sign up for an entrecard account – otherwise only the initial 500 credits will be transferred to their nominee).
The “Rules”: Simply leave a comment on this post (please indicate in the comment if you do or don’t use Entrecard). However by entering you must be willing to run (or have already done so) your own Pay it Forward initiative on your blog IF you are selected a winner (a link back to me is not a requirement).
Closing: This competition will close on Wednesday 12th March (2008) at 5.00 pm (Sydney time).
I’m hoping this all makes sense π

Lightening’s last blog post..The Challenge
I just found your site totally randomly. My entire website, blogrlab, is dedicated to running ‘experiments’ to maximize my ability to ‘pay it forward’. Results to date for 2008: $450 USD. See my website for more info. All proceeds go to house the poorest of the poor (i.e. not in the US) I don’t use the Entrecard and I don’t even care about the prize. Just want to let people know that “PIF” is our first step to evolving beyond ‘survival of the fittest’ as a human race and it is about time we all make a concerted effort to start doing this.
Sorry I’m late – so behind the ball this week.
Schmoochies for the award xxxx
