Top Aussie Women Bloggers

Just a really quick post to say that the fabulous Leigh at All For Women is hosting a list of the top 50 Australian women’s blogs.

Aussie women bloggers are often heralded as being an under-represented segment of the blogging community:

But, aside from a few success stories such as vitalingus.com and reasonsyouwillhateme.blogspot.com, Australia’s bright lights of bloggerdom are predominantly men. Of the 8000 women’s blogs listed at BlogHer.org, just 96 are of Australian or New Zealand origin. By comparison Canada, a country with 36 per cent more people, lists 82 per cent more women’s blogs.

So it’s great so see a list highlighting some of the wonderful talent we have in Australia. I’ve made some terrific friends amongst this list, and I think this niche would have to be one of the most community oriented in the blogosphere.
