Marty Safe – Daniel Mifsud is out of Australian Idol
Suspense built tonight with all the contestants being called up on stage. Tarisai, Natalie, Matt, Carl, Marty and Daniel in line.
Firstly Tarisai was voted in the bottom three. Next, it was between Matt and Carl. Ad break. I confidently predicted “neither – they’re both safe” (honest, I had a witness). And they were both safe, which meant Daniel and Marty were both through to the bottom three.
I noticed that I didn’t feel as surprised to see Tarisai there as I was a few weeks ago.
Man, Marty lives again. Seriously, I think “cat” (i.e. “nine lives”) every time he goes back to the couch.
Marcia is in shock, completely lost for words.
Kyle would be happy to see Daniel go.
Dicko hoped Daniel would stay.
Mark reckoned they were the bottom two (seriously?), and that the voting public picked well.
And Daniel Mifsud was voted out.
The next edition of Australian Idol has an “Aussie hits” theme (I heard mention of next Sunday being the ARIAs, so I’m thinking there isn’t an Idol episode).
Coming up on November 11th is the Audience Choice, where the public have the chance to pick a song for the contests to sing.

Thanks for that. Darned phone rang and I missed the booting of Daniel. I thought he deserved it, never got him. And I hope Marty is next, then african queen.
Mondo – don’t you hate that! Glad you found the info. No, I’m not sorry either. The way the public seems to love Marty, he might just be there for a while.
Marty is the suckiest one by far. He should totally have gone weeks ago. He always smushes his face up when he sings, and he has that annoying nasal intonation. On Sunday night Daniel did a reasonable job of both his songs, whereas Marty just did his usual puppy-dog routine and all the voters obviously fell for it.
Sheesh. Kick him out already! Bring back the Jack Sparrow guy!!! He was a classic!
It wouldn’t have really worried me who went last night.
Carl and Matt in the top two now, for sure. It’s a given. Who wants to bet?!
They’re having the ARIA Red Carpet at 7:30, Idol at 8:30 and the Award Ceremony at 9:30 – although I think Idol might be pre-taped because the Idols are going to the ARIAs, unless they let them in halfway through the show. I think Fox Studio is close to where the ARIAs are.
Hey Meg,
It’s Lucy (kept leaving comments on Ben’s page.)
Arrggghhhh, I thought Marty would leave this week!!!! I think Daniel deserved to stay abit longer, although don’t think he would of won it.
Marty should of been out ages ago!!!
Poor Daniel, and he cried too!
I betting for next week Marty to go, or Tarisai.
Carl, Matt and Natalie will make it to the end, and Ben…If he was still in the competition!:(
Pinky – absolutely agree!
Karen – LOL! My money’s been on Matt to take it out, but I wouldn’t bet on Carl being there, not the way the public has been voting for Marty!
Bryce – thanks for that info (I was putting 2 + 2 together & getting 5). I suspect you’re right about the pre-recording.
Hi again Lucy Absolutely – Marty’s gotta go! Don’t understand WTF he’s doing there.
I wish Tarisai had gone, I do think Daniel has a big personality, even if he has had some dodgy song choices lately!
As for me, I’m with Carl 100%. Boy is smoking!
Hi Alyndabear – Carl sure has come along in leaps and bounds!
I’m glad Daniel is gone but would have preferred Marty to have taken his leave.
Who is voting for him? It must be his family and friends. Surely the Australian public are not all tone deaf????
Anyway, I hope to see Carl in the top two. The kids asked me to give three reasons why I liked him last night and I said because he’s good looking, has beautiful dimples and can sing and play the trumpet… did I mention he has dimples to die for?
Tiffany – I know, there must be a few people with seriously large phone bills! As for Carl, I guess Dicko’s on the money with the “housewife’s choice”!
PS Thanks for the “Nice Matters” Award, I’ll get to it in due course
Just saw the show. Carl is my personal choice, for the same reasons why Marsha(sp?) picked him from the beginning. He sings like a trumpet and I love most of his song choices. All the rest I don’t really care for, kinda boring.
