Comments are king follow up – p0rn free

Published by at 11:17 pm under blogging,SEO

As a follow up to my comments are king post, you’ll be happy to know I have finally eliminated all searchers looking for p0rn.

In the discussion that ensued on that post, Neerav convinced me that I should feel okay about editing the comments that I referred to. So I changed every incidence of the “undesirable word” to “p0rn” (with a “zero”) in the comments on the offending post.

I did this on the 6th of October. It took a few days for the changes to take effect, but the end result is comprehensive. The second last “peak” was the 6th of October, then falling somewhat for 4-5 days. I have now been officially p0rn free for two days and only one search result the day before. (Sorry about the grainy image).

Eliminating p0rn

At the end of the day, I think this pretty conclusively proves the value of comments in the overall value of content.

Fascinating Meg! Glad you did it, and I think it proves your point pretty well.

This will help for a while, Meg. But have you googled p0rn? As your blog has some authority, you’ll soon rank for this term too. And it will start all over again. I hope I am wrong.
