Dipping into the Blogpond

Seems I’m having a Google day.

Google have just announced related search suggestions for the Aussie domain. Now, on many search terms, at the bottom of the search results pages, they offer “searches related to” your search term.

For example a search for “business” offers these suggestions:

I wonder how much people will use these? I think it’s good for the “inexperienced” searcher who might enter a generic term, get to the bottom of the page and realise there’s something there that suits them better.

From a Search Engine marketing point of view, it could prove a bonus for those that have optimised for the related terms – but not for those ranking further down on generic terms.

Hmm – any thoughts?
