Since I’ve been covering Paul Potts’ journey since the show started, I thought it fitting to post the video from the final of “Britain’s Got Talent”. Over 2 million people voted and the winner is ….. Paul Potts. Well done! You can read more about it at Britain’s Got Talent Grand Final.

Bigpond Issues

Published by under bigpond,General,telstra

To date I have never publicly named my ISP. It’s Bigpond, and I’ve had no end of dramas. When we moved to this house 3 years ago there was no cable. We were told we are too far from the exchange to get ADSL. We paid $2,666 to get cable run to the residence. Funny […]

Paul Potts Wows again in the Semi Final

Published by under random

Paul Potts has certainly captured the hearts of the public with his unassuming nature, and emotive performance in “Britain’s Got Talent”, and I hear via reader comments from our friends in the UK that Paul has made it through to the final. Thanks to Clara, I’m pleased to post a video of Paul’s performance in […]

Google Offers Suggestions

Published by under Australia,Google,search

Seems I’m having a Google day. Google have just announced related search suggestions for the Aussie domain. Now, on many search terms, at the bottom of the search results pages, they offer “searches related to” your search term. For example a search for “business” offers these suggestions: I wonder how much people will use these? […]

What I Don’t Like About the New Google Analytics

Published by under Australia,Google Analytics

I’m really trying to get my head around the new analytics format. From the 18th of July the old interface will no longer be available. To be honest I haven’t spent a lot of time there for one main reason. They’ve made some changes, which has improved the new interface somewhat. For me the ability […]

Refurber is to renovation what Minti is to parenting

About a lifetime ago (ok it was January) I wrote a post comparing the top Australian parenting sites – Minti being one of them. I got an email today from Clay Cook, a co-founder of Minti and Vibe Capital, telling me they have just launched their second web 2.0 offering called Refurber (currently in public […]

Combining the Best of Search – SearchBoth

Via my trusty RSS feed of customised news from plugger (which I’m really liking) came an article today by Sandra Rossi from Computer World about a search engine called SearchBoth. This is a website by Toll Free Yellow Pages Inc and, apart from Australia, has been launched in the US, UK and Canada. Testing the […]

Free to Good Home – e-Cycled.com

A couple of months ago I wrote about Matt Vapor’s wonderful initiative with CLiCK computer recycling. Today I found out about another initiative along the same lines. It’s called e-Cycled.com, and has been set up by three environmentally conscious friends – Cameron Adams, Sandra Wang and Emma Rogers. Sandra Cameron is to be interviewed by […]

A Mobile Phone Salesman called Paul Potts

Published by under random

A mobile phone salesman from the UK by the name of Paul Potts entered in a talent search show called “Britain’s got Talent”. An unassuming guy, seemingly lacking in any confidence takes his place on the stage and announces he is going to sing opera (Puccini’s Nessum Nessun Dorma, for the informed). The three judges […]
