Weekly Update 6th September
1. New blogs debuting in the Top 100 Australian Blogs
2. New blogs on the Australian Blogs Community
MyNRMA Motoring Blogs
Three Ring Circus
Motivational Speaker – Craig Harper
Reminder: Anybody who would like to add (or update) the Aussie blogs from Bumpzee to their blogroll can find an A to Z list and a downunder version (Z to A). Snoskred keeps these updated weekly.
We now have 145 members, 165 blogs, 9850 entries and some really great discussion. Is your blog there?
3. Laughs of the Week
Swollen Pickles highlights what he did when someone copied a whole post (including images) from his website, and how he replaced the images with something – well, quite funny. You see, the images were still being hosted and served by swollen pickles. There are a couple of posts in the series. Revenge can be funny Dealing with bandwidth theft.
Coach outlines Bar-B-Que Rules – sound like what happens at your place?
4. Other News
I have decided to drop back to fortnightly updates for the Top Aussie Blogs index. The list has pretty much stabilised for new entrants, and apart from minor shuffling is relatively static.
5. Unexpected search terms
fat mobile phone sings opera (what does a fat mobile look like?)
ranting contractor online (should that be “rating” perhaps?)
humour break (hmm rated number one for that one)
ultimate last chaos manual (I don’t want to know. I’m hoping it’s a game)
when you visit australia, how do you thank hosts’ in australia (grog usually goes down well)
help! where can i find truly free ringtones? (Not here, sorry)
what it means when someone stops writing and calling as much (take the hint…)
mypornospace (thanks to a commenter) BTW – it doesn’t exist.
6. From the Aussosphere
Dan Warne gives a great overview of Webmenu.com.au in “This Website is like Digg for Restaurants”.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Mark Neely has an interesting look at social networking, including the concept of Dunbar’s Number (which postulates there is a maximum number of meaning relationships we can maintain) in Social networks – chasm ahead.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
John Lampard has an interesting look at Bush’s APEC visit to Australia. Still leaves me wondering why this event wasn’t hosted in our Nation’s Capital….

And for those of you looking for a Facebook alternative – Have you tried Arsebook. I sh*t you not (ok bad pun).

Thanks for that Meg.
It mightn’t be news to most people, but I posted about how to stop bandwidth theft here. Altering the htaccess file wasn’t that hard after all! 😛
I saw that update – very handy reference if it ever becomes a problem.
I think APEC was held in Sydney because John Howard doesn’t like Canberra 😉 But otherwise it’s a good question…
Sorry I was a little late with this due to the moving, but it has been updated now. 😉
I’ll drop by the 3 blogs when I have a spare moment and let them know
Cheers!
Snoskred.
‘Tis cool, I was late with the update anyway!
