The Man or the Money Dating Promo

Being an advertiser on Mix 106.5 in Sydney we have known about “The Man or the Money” promotion for quite some time (and had to remain tight lipped).

I love this promotion, and wished we had enough spare cash to co-sponsor it for dLook Dating, as it would have been a perfect fit. The promotional pitch was excellent.

The idea is that for 2 weeks leading up to Valentine’s Day (and this runs in Sydney, Melbourne on Mix 101.1 and Brisbane 97.3 FM), there are 10 bachelors (aged between 24 & 41) who interview potential dates throughout each working day. At the end of the day, they choose who they with to go out with that evening. The winning “date” has to decide whether to go on the date, or accept cash instead. There is a follow up “kiss and tell” the following morning.

The website has a couple of bugs that you should be aware of. Don’t hit the “back” button or you will be taken out of the site entirely. The descriptions for some of the guys are cut off (you have to click in the info screen to scroll down) , and it’s not really obvious that there will be “more information” on the “video” tab, but I suppose anyone interested enough would click there anyway.

It will be interesting to see how well the two mediums cross-over & what kind of traffic they get to The Man or the Money website.

    Dang!! I’m really disappointed.
I’m a clever, cute, compassionate girl looking for a guy to share my full, successful life with and I jumped on the Man or the Money site to register already in January. Last Friday I flew to Coffs Harbour and whilst in the no-mobile-transmission-‘Banana Hills’ I missed a call from the ARN. Doh! Just my luck. Tried to call back Friday afternoon but got the answering machine .. tried first thing this Monday morning but got the answering machine again .. tried an hour ago and found out that it was probably a screening call to assess whether I would make the shortlist to get a mini-date with Declan! Doh!!!! I missed out! So close, yet so far. Obviously wasn’t meant to be … or was it? … Hmmm.
    Cheers.

    Hi Michelle

What a bummer! I guess it depends on whether you believe in fate…

Good luck with your love life

    Thanks Meg …

LOL!! Actually, I guess I DO believe in fate, and whilst it might sound as though my locus of control is pretty external … here I am writing back to you in the hope that ‘something’ can be done with respect to my recent path twist … what a paradox! Tee hee.

All the best with yours too.
